Sealevel Construction is proud to announce that we have achieved two Merit EIC Awards for our Inland LNG Pipeline Platforms project. Sealevel was recognized at the Associated Builders and Contractors(ABC) Greater Houston's and ABC Pelican’s EIC awards programs this past month.

The project entailed building two marine platforms-150’x 350’ and 140’ x 165’- in the Barataria Bay to connect two natural gas pipelines to Venture Global LNG’s new facility in Plaquemines Parish.

Director of Operations Travis Schonacher said, “This project is a testament to Sealevel's commitment to safety, value engineering, quality control, scheduling, innovation, adaptability, and productivity. I could not be prouder of our team’s safe and diligent work throughout this project.”

Through extensive planning and collaboration with project owners and engineers, the team determined the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods of construction. They chose an approach that involved Sealevel self-performing all major components of the two platforms including driving (278) cylinder concrete pilings, (108) pre-castconcrete capsills, installing (317) pre-cast deck, a substantial amount ofgrouting and building two pre-cast boat docks.

Sealevel’s fabrication division, Specks Fabricationand Cutting, also designed, drafted and fabricated the project’s (4) 2 tier piling templates. Once complete, the templates were barged to site from Sealevel’s affiliated marine yard, Eagle Drydock and Marine Services.

Despite challenges and with the support of their three affiliate companies, Sealevel managed this portion of the project turnkey, accumulating nearly 73,000 man-hours. Sealevel completed this year-long, $33 million project ahead of schedule, within budget, and with zero lost time incidents. Due to Sealevel’s unwavering commitment to safety and quality, Sealevel continues to collaborate with the owner on related projects for the new LNG facility.

Sealevel also received a Platinum Level Step Safety Award at the Pelican Chapter’s awards banquet.
